A fivesome of singing strippers -- sorry, "burlesque artists" -- was one of those "why didn't I think of that?" ideas. Credit Robin Antin, who parlayed the PCD's appearances with celebs like Pam Anderson into a record deal and hits like "Don't Cha." An attempt to spin off Nicole Scherzinger (a.k.a. the one who can sing) into a solo star went colder than a Flashdancers buffet, though. More Hooters pop, please, ladies.
Doll Domination
"Don't Cha" gave the Dolls tons of R&B cred, so no surprise to see names like Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Cee-Lo Green and Scott Storch on the credits. First hit "When I Grow Up" is a manifesto for 14-year-old materialists everywhere; the vintage-sounding "In Person" will keep folks happy with its Ikettes vibe; and Scherzinger fans will appreciate "Just Say Yes," an outtake from her lost solo sessions.
