So... I watched the show last night. It was okay; hopefully it gets better. Here's an article with more proof of PCD recording a new album. Apparently Nicole has been shelved for the moment.

'Girlicious'
Get ready, 'cause here they come.
Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin and the CW are preparing a full-on media and marketing blitz to promote their latest reality series, "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious."
There will be clothing and makeup lines, a new album (released after the show's April finale), a music video and even mini Webisodes to make sure viewers are caught up with what could be their new favorite girl group.
"Girlicious," premiering tomor-row night at 9, is similar to last season's "Search for the Next Pussycat Doll," but instead of looking for a replacement, Antin is looking for three girls to create the new group.
"I was already planning on finding new girls, with or without the TV show," Antin told the Daily News as the winners (whom she wouldn't reveal) rehearsed in the background. "I thought that the audience would really love to see what it takes to not just be like a Pussycat Doll or Girlicious but also the idea of what that means. To feel your sexiness, to feel empowered, and to really learn about singing and dancing, and to work on your craft and be the best you can be."
Also, last season didn't seem to work out too well in the end. Winner Asia Nitollano decided to pursue solo options rather than continuing as a member of the Pussycat Dolls.
"[Asia] really came in with the idea in mind that she wanted to go solo, so for her, being in a group wasn't her ideal thing," Antin said. "But she knows I rooted for her since day one. I'm her biggest fan."
Much like Season 1, the competition will consist of challenges that test the girls' performance skills. Lil' Kim will be back as a judge, as will Mark McGrath as host. Guest appearances will include a spot with Nelly Furtado, the Pussycat Dolls themselves, and "a member of 'N Sync shows up," said Antin, "but I'm not saying names."
Of Girlicious, Antin says, they are similar to the Pussycat Dolls in some "very sexy" ways, but also march to the beat of their own funky drummer."
This is more of an urban style," said Antin. "They're not wearing heels and garters, it's not burlesque-inspired but more workout-inspired. They wear, like, really brightly colored sports bras and great little athletic shorts, only with great hair and great makeup. They look like Bratz dolls!"
As for the Girlicious sound, Antin says they're trying to capture a sense of girl power with a twist."The vibe of the music is a cross between TLC, maybe a little Destiny's Child, definitely a little Pussycat Dolls," said Antin. "They're really going to bring something real to the music place. I cannot wait for the world to see what they're like."
Stalwart PCD fans should also be excited to know that Nicole Scherzinger is back with that group and they're making music again.
"We're in the studio right now," Antin said. "Nicole is 100% back with us. She actually never left. She was working on her solo stuff and it's out there and people will hear that, but she actually wants to focus on Pussycat Dolls right now. We all want to. We're going full force."
So will Antin keep her magical touch going for another season and another band?"
I really am thinking about it," she said. "I have another really good idea. I won't tell you what it is yet, it's still in the early stages, but it's a really good idea; I think people would love it."
